VACCO is capable of fabricating medical contact switches from adhesive bonding three photo etched layers consisting of Dupont Kapton polyimide and full hard stainless steel. The adhesive bonding is performed with a heated bonding fixture, and wires conductive welded as the final process. VACCO’s repeatable processes are capable of producing components with tight tolerances ± 0.0005″. Each unit produced, consists of three layers, measuring 0.75″ long, 0.375″ wide, 0.018″ thick per switch, with varying thicknesses by layer. Using customer specifications and 2D CAD drawings, the multi-step etching process is capable of producing precisely etched components. VACCO is capable of producing 5,000 units per month for our customer.
With a series of in-process testing and inspections, VACCO’s resulting photo etched Micro Medical contact switches are manufactured in a clean room environment, meeting medical product part standards. Additional details for this project are summarized below. Contact us to learn more.
